ELIGIBILITY TO APPEAR IN AISSEE 2023
I. For admission to Sainik Schools
a) For admission to Class VI:
- A candidate should be between 10 and 12 years as on 31 March 2023 for admission to Class VI, i.e. he/she should have been born between 01 April 2011 and 31 March 2013 (both days inclusive) for admission to the academic year 2023-24.
- Admission for Girls is open for Class VI. Age criteria is same as boys.
b) For admission to Class IX:
- A candidate should be between 13 and 15 years as on 31 March 2023, for admission to Class IX, i.e. he should have been born between 01 April 2008 and 31 March 2010 (both days inclusive) for admission to the academic year 2023-23.
- Admission to Class IX is not open for girls.
- He should have passed Class VIII exam from a recognized school at the time of admission.
II. For admission to approved New Sainik Schools:
Admission to approved New Sainik Schools in the Sainik School stream, for the academic year 2023-
24 is only at the level of Class VI.
a) Eligibility requirements are as follows:
- A candidate should be between 10 and 12 years as on 31 March 2023 for admission to Class VI, i.e. he/she should have been born between 01 April 2011 and 31 March 2013 (both days inclusive) for admission to the academic year 2023-24.
- Admission for Girls is open for Class VI. Age criteria is same as boys.
- Candidates should be studying in one of the New Sainik Schools and must have passed/appearing in Class V as on 31.03.2023.
Candidates are advised to check the availability of seats for their specific category and gender from
Appendix VI of the Information Bulletin carefully.
